Meals On Wheels And More -- Austin, Texas

Here are just a couple of shots from a series I produced profiling Meals On Wheels And More (MOWAM) volunteers and clients. You can see even more photos from this series in my portfolio here. Each day, MOWAM volunteers serve about 2,000 meals to homebound elderly and disabled clients. It's an awesome service. And they're in desperate need of volunteers like you. Please contact MOWAM.org to see how you can help.

Unloading from central kitchen to a neighborhood distribution center.

Here a volunteer is shown checking in on a client. For many homebound people, a MOWAM volunteer brings very welcome relief from feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Volunteers can really brighten the day for many clients, just by showing up.

This picture shows Sally organizing distribution packages for about 30 delivery volunteers; each of those volunteers will then distribute meals to about a dozen clients each.

Here a client rides up to the distribution truck to pick up his own meal package.
